Q.  What if this option is quoted at a more cost effective price.

A.  At first glance this would appear to be the case but in the long run it will work out more expensive.

Although it looks promising to start with, none CMS driven sites do appear to be cheaper but several things will change this over time. Firstly they are not as user friendly and more advanced knowledge is required to make modifications. Without other solutions like Contribute even making small text changes will be difficult and not straight forward.

CMS software will usually have advanced functionality that is very simply to change and control. Ask web companies to demonstrate a series of changes and make you own judgement on ease of use. All changes to content made by the CMS software can be made quickly by the client, saving time and money.

One of the best and most cost effective benefits for CMS is when it comes time to change the look and feel of the site. No web site will carry on looking good after 2 or 3 years, just the same problem that you will have with your brochures. It will require a new design to make sure it stills gives the best impression of your company. With CMS sites only the templates will require re-designing as all the content is stored in the database. Consequently your web company will only require a couple of days to completely change the appearance of the site, giving it a completely new look.

Other solutions can't do this so after 4 or 5 years clients end up paying considerably more money as the site will require a complete rebuild. CMS sites do provide clients with a future proof solution.
